New Kitchen for Women & Girls’ Crisis Accomodation

With a bit of funding from a previous Stronger Communities Grant, the Women’s & Girls’ Emergency Centre WAGEC refurbished their communal kitchen in their local crisis accommodation.

I was able to attend the launch of their new kitchen facilities and say a few words to the incredible team that made this happen. Family violence and violence against women are some of the biggest factors that cause homelessness. While we continue to work against violence against women and children, it’s so important that facilities like this exist in our community so that we can support vulnerable women and children. The Women’s & Girl’s Emergency Centre are true champions in Reid and beyong, and I’m so proud to support the work of this organisation.
