It was great to join the Concord Giants Football Club yesterday to announce a re-elected Turnbull Government will contribute $500,000 towards ground improvements at St Lukes Oval, Concord to allow the ground to accommodate local junior AFL clubs including the Giants and Drummoyne Power Junior AFL Club.

The popularity of AFL is fast growing in the inner west, and this financial support from the Turnbull Government will support our local clubs with some outstanding new facilities.

The funding will facilitate the completion of phase one of the proposed works including a refurbished amenities block, goal posts and ground lights.

Thanks to Sam Graham, Chief Executive of AFL NSW/ACT, Andrew Baxter, Concord Giants president, and Jeremy Stanwix, Drummoyne Power President for joinging us for the announcement, along with all the parents and kids that were there!

This will be used for new equipment and supplies, as well as providing funding for five young individuals residing in the Canada Bay area from socioeconomically disadvantaged backgrounds the fantastic opportunity to play football at AJFC.
