Today I was joined by Minister for Justice Michael Keenan to announce $50,000 funding to address safety concerns in Cabarita Park, committed under the Coalition’s Safer Communities Fund.

My thanks to Friends of Cabarita Park and Wharf and other local residents who have been campaigning and engaging with their local representatives for so long on this, and I’m proud to be delivering on this important local issue!

The funding will provide CCTV and other measures to combat criminal and anti-social behaviour in the park.

Our green open spaces are a treasured asset of our community, and keeping these spaces safe and secure is a top priority.

I have been meeting with Friends of Cabarita Park and Wharf and listening to the concerns of local residents about security in Cabarita Park. Through the Federal Government’s Safer Streets Programme I’m supporting an application to address local residents’ concerns and address crime & anti-social behaviour.

The security and safety of our community is one of the most important roles of elected officials, and one I take very seriously – I’m proud to wholeheartedly back this local grassroots campaign.

Congratulations to all those involved for their hard work so far.
