PCYC Burwood are the second organisation to register a team for the Reid Community Cup.

PCYC work together with the NSW Police Force to provide sports and activities for “at risk” young people in our community.

NSW Police officers case-manage and support local youth, working to reduce crime and help these young people move away from their old friends, old “habits”, and find new outlets, new activities, and get back to study or into a job.

PCYC offer life changing programs for some of our most vulnerable youth and help them develop vital life skills.

To find out more about their work or how you can help, you can visit their website at http://www.pcycnsw.org/burwood – alternatively get down to Timbrell Park on 15 March to support them in the Reid Community Cup!

I am pleased to kick start the week by announcing that the first team up for the Reid Community Cup is Communities for Communities.

Founded by Lance Brooks in 2002, Communites for Communities is a Drummoyne based charity whose work is not just felt in the community locally, but makes a real difference in communities overseas.

Since 2002, they have raised approximately $2 million which has been put towards funding homes and community facilities in South East Asian villages and has also gone some way towards funding a hydrotherapy facility at Lucas Gardens School in Five Dock.

To find out more about their work or how you can help them, visit www.communitiesforcommunities.com.au

The work undertaken by Communities for Communities is integral in the Canada Bay area and I am looking forward to them joining the match line up for the Reid Community Cup.
