Reid student wins prestigious National History Award

MLC School Burwood student, Rachel Wang has been awarded one of the nation’s top history honours, winning the prestigious 2016 National Young Historian of the Year Award. Member for Reid Craig Laundy MP congratulated Ms Wang on winning the award, which was announced at the National History Challenge award ceremony at Parliament House in Canberra.

GRANTS AVAILABLE TO SUPPORT VOLUNTEERS IN REID

Community organisations in Reid are encouraged to apply for a grant of up to $5000 to assist the work of their volunteers. Member for Reid, Hon Craig Laundy MP, said the funding is being provided under a $10 million Volunteer Grant funding round, announced by the Minister for Social Services, Christian Porter.

Craig Laundy announces $20,000 towards refurbishment of Women’s and Girls’ Refuge

Federal Member for Reid, Craig Laundy MP today announced a $20,000 grant for the Women’s and Girls’ Emergency Centre in Burwood. The funding will be used for much needed repairs and improving child safe areas at the centre, which is used as a shelter for women and families escaping domestic violence.
