Today’s visit to Splend Sydney allowed me to see the huge impact this company is having on small business. Since its inception, Splend has created over 4,500 micro-businesses throughout Australia in the sharing economy, supporting 355 self-employed microbusiness in our electorate of Reid. What’s better is that over half of their members are migrants and refugees, meaning that they’re facilitating employment opportunities for new Australians settling in to our communities. One of the many reasons I’m passionate about being Minister for Small and Family Business.
