Smiles all round at Homebush West Public!
Earlier today, I joined Federal Minister for Health, Sussan Ley MP at Homebush West Public School to discuss the Government’s Child and Adult Public Dental Scheme. This is the largest ever Commonwealth investment in public dental services and will focus on the prevention of oral health issues.
State and Territory governments will receive more money from the Commonwealth than they have ever received for public dental services.
This replaces Labor’s policy that had seen $4 million worth of incorrect claims being investigated.
The Turnbull Government will invest a total of almost $5 billion over the next four years to improve dental outcomes, including $2.1 billion over 5 years on the Child and Adult Public Dental Scheme.
Every year more than 63,000 Australians hospitalised because of poor oral health, this is largely avoidable. This investment in prevention makes sure that the children are the direct beneficiaries and will benefit every child under 18 in the Reid community.
