Meriden School crowned World Schools Tennis Champions in Qatar


Over the weekend Meriden School were crowned the World Champions at the World Schools Tennis Championship held in Qatar.

Congratulations to the six players Violet Apisah (Year 9), Amne Ghamraoui (Year 10), Michaella Haet, Linda Huang and Shubhika Dubey (Year 11) and Claudia Furdi (Year 12). Congratulations also to Team Manager Lisa Brown, Head Coach Ross Anton, and Coaches Brian Ly, Stelios Pikoulas, and Clare Kinnane.

Well done to all involved at Meriden, you have made Australia proud!


Craig Laundy MP moved a motion condemning human rights abuses in North Korea


Earlier today I moved a motion in the Chamber condemning the grave human rights abuses in North Korea, particularly with reference to the damning evidence and findings outlined in last year’s report of the United Nations Commission of Inquiry on Human Rights in the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.

I am thankful to my local Korean community representatives, who have been tirelessly working with me and my office in ensuring that I am up to date with the most recent announcements and progress on this issue.
